Your new role In this exciting new role you will responsible for the setting up of and ongoing management of the Hitachi cleaning operation and support teams located in the maintenance depots to fulfil all contractual requirements. Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables: • Contract Management and Compliance with regards to all cleaning activities as required in the TSA Contract. • Responsible for the recruitment, setting up and ongoing management of the Hitachi train cleaning and support teams associated with all aspects of cleaning. • To procure as necessary and manage contracted cleaning activities for the Hitachi fleets fleet as required. • Delivery of the operational cleaning plans to be undertaken at the associated maintenance depots. • Document and record all cleaning activities as required to support the customer passenger service. • Management, co-ordination and deployment of cleaning teams to support the customer passenger service. • Proactive materials and staff planning in conjunction with the associated cleaning requirements. • Point of contract for Consultation, Allocation and Disputes with regards to the train service as necessary • Procurement and set up of the necessary I.T. systems to support the capturing of all cleaning KPIs • Recording of KPI failures on KPI scorecards though the associated I.T. Systems • Assurance of train presentation standards to the Train Services Agreement Cleaning KPI’s • The position holder will develop a strong working relationship with stakeholders and continuously improve train cleaning standards to result in the achievement of high KPI scores and avoidance of KPI Standards failures. • Daily management of the KPI cleaning regime and associated KPI reporting. • Capturing, analysing and supply of the necessary KPIs to the Contracts and Commercial Manager. • To develop, supervise and continuously improve the quality and standard of all train cleaning activities. • Undertaking internal and external cleaning assessments and audits as required. Working closely with the Shift Production Managers and Production team to ensure that allocated sets undertake internal and external cleaning to the required standards. • Ensure Catering Equipment Checks are carried out and any defective equipment is recorded. • Develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure train presentation expectations are met. • Responsible for providing clarity and direction to the cleaning operatives. • To control and monitor the correct use of appropriate train presentation cleaning materials. • To control and monitor the use of cleaning and equipment, arranging the repair or renewal of equipment. • To carry out stock checks on equipment and materials as required. • Promote Health and Safety within the cleaning team and raise awareness amongst all staff of appropriate Health and Safety Regulations. • Produce reports and meet to discuss the provisions and effectiveness of the contracted service. • In line with the company sustainability policy ensure effective and economical use of equipment and materials. • To actively support company equality, diversity and inclusion policies. • Must be prepared to travel and overnight away from base location for short periods of time to support train presentation quality and activities. • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of this position. About you Essential Licences / Competences • Manual Handling, COSHH • Experience of delivering cleaning standards to an efficient, high quality within a transport environment. • Outstanding Safety Awareness. Desirable Licences / Competences • Intermediate IT skills – typically Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook • Working at Height, COSHH, Manual handling. • Experience of working in a rail depot environment and at stabling out stations. Behavioural • Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times • Proven experienced manager with very strong leadership skills • Calm and diplomatic under pressure • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Able to interface effectively with all levels of personnel both within and outside the company. • Loyal, committed, confident and determined. • Previous experience of Cleaning Supervision to exacting standards.
